The deputy Jaroslaw Kaczynski, who is considered the most influential politician in Poland, spoke about the further development of events and the possibility of negotiations between Russia and Ukraine.
He stated that recently, the external political forces have been actively trying to impose on Ukraine the conditions under which Kyiv must enter into negotiations, agree to points proposed by the Kremlin, etc. However, such pressure on the government of Ukraine only plays into the hands of the Russian Federation.
At a time when Ukrainian territories are partially occupied, such imposition is criminal. It repeats the mistakes of politicians in the middle of the last century when the technique of concessions became the reason for the rapid growth of the imperial ambitions of the aggressor and led to the growth of the scale of the tragedy.
Poland has its interest
Even if we leave aside the question of justice, Ukraine under the full influence of Russia would become dangerous for Poland. It is known that the Russian Federation has always had territorial claims against Poland. Such a neighborhood is life on a powder keg that will explode sooner or later. Now, with the help of partner countries, Ukraine was able to stand up, at the same time paying the price of a hundred thousand lives, and this to some extent secured the East of Europe.
Honesty in an unfair game
Honest negotiations could be based only on the retreat of the Russian army and its withdrawal outside the borders of Ukraine. Nevertheless, it is more than naive to count on this. If Russia was ready for such negotiations, it would not have invaded Ukrainian territories from the very beginning.
In addition, Russia places its military bases on the territory of Crimea throughout the years of independence. This issue remains open. There is no hope that the Russian Federation will agree to leave voluntarily, this problem can only be solved by military means. The war drains the potential of Ukraine and destroys its economy. However, Jaroslaw Kaczynski concluded that it is better for every country to be in debt than to be in occupation.
