Ukraine risks losing control over its airspace

Losing control over the sky of Ukraine is an unacceptable moment in the war, but such a prospect has become a real threat to Kyiv. What exactly is this connected with? Whether it will be possible to solve this situation? – Further in the article.

Everything is needed at once

From the first month of the war, the government of Ukraine persistently asked its partners for air defense systems. This was dictated by absolute necessity. The Russians bombarded civilian and military targets from the sky, and there were not enough shells for air defense systems in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Therefore, at a particular stage, when the terror of the civilian population reached its maximum, the use of anti-tank missiles came to the rescue. Using these missiles, the Ukrainian soldiers shot down helicopters that could fly far from the contact line. For this reason, the enemy stopped sending aircraft far from the front to Ukrainian lands.

The enemy knows the truth

The situation became threatening when the ammunition was almost exhausted. The command of the Russian army knows about this, so they are no longer deterred by the imminent threat of destruction. The number of helicopters and airplanes of the enemy increases nearly every day. He realizes that they cannot be harmed.

After the Pentagon’s data was leaked, the Russian Federation knows that the situation with air defense weapons in Ukraine is critical. Already in May, control over the sky may completely pass to Russia.

The situation is worsened by the fact that most air defense systems were concentrated to protect civilian cities of Ukraine, so the front line remains almost absolutely unprotected.

There is nothing more relevant

That is why the point of air defense systems supply became one of the main issues during the next meeting in the Ramstein format. The President of Ukraine asked Stoltenberg, the Secretary General of NATO, to assist in this matter during his visit to Kyiv.
