Large-scale military exercises called ANAKONDA 23 will be held on Polish territory from May 2 to 26. People are asked not to take photos or videos during the movement of military equipment, as it could potentially provide valuable information to the enemy. What will the training consist of, and who will be involved in it?
The Polish Army will conduct the largest training of this year with coordination from two key centers:
– American DEFENDER 23;
– Swedish AURORA 23.
The armies of NATO and several partner countries will join 12,000 Polish soldiers in the upcoming military exercise. The list of partner countries includes:
– USA;
– Romania;
– Slovenia;
– Sweden;
– France;
– Lithuania;
– Latvia;
– Estonia;
– Turkey.
Corrections on the go
Making corrections on the go
Although the exercises had been planned for a long time, the full-scale war, which Russia has waged since February 2022, led to a complete format change. The four main areas will be:
– Strategic and operational level training;
– Coordinated operations with troops;
– Computerized command and staff training;
– Experimental training.
The problem is easier to prevent
Land logistics routes pose a significant problem for European troops because the roads are not adapted for such heavy equipment. That’s the issue that will be resolved primarily during the training operation. The Operational Headquarters of the Polish Army has warned citizens about the increased road traffic between Poland cities shortly. Large convoys of equipment are expected to be in transit during this time.
Is this the beginning of what?
The recent joint exercises with NATO have caused concern among many people. They still remember when the Russian Federation started the training near the Ukrainian border in February 2022. It led to an actual attack. Most experts dismiss the possibility of a repeat scenario, but there is no doubt that military exercise seems more demonstrative than practical. It is a clear message to Russia that they are ready and able to fight together against it.
