The confrontation between the two countries took a symbolic form long ago. This is not only a struggle between dictatorship and democracy, but also a battle between quality and quantity.
Due to the current situation at the front, the Russian army has been forced to prioritize quantity over quality in many aspects. Meanwhile, for Ukraine, quality has become a significant advantage.
Number of people
Now the Russian army has only one thing left – to “crush” by a large number. To achieve this, they must increase the number of conscripts and intensify mobilization. Unfortunately, there is no time for proper training as the priority is to replenish the losses immediately. As a result, soldiers are sent to the front lines without any combat experience or even basic skills.
The Armed Forces of Ukraine prioritize the training of their personnel. NATO standards, tactics, and strategy makes the Ukrainian army unique. Additionally, Ukrainian soldiers typically serve in combat units longer than their Russian counterparts, highlighting further differences between the two nations’ military forces.
The commanders of the Armed Forces of Ukraine cannot afford to neglect the lives of soldiers not only from a moral point of view but also from a practical point of view. The Russian command can allow such losses: they are not catastrophic in military terms.
Equipment
The Russian Federation began to use a large number of T-54 tanks. Morally, this military equipment is outdated, since the development of the model took place even after the Second World War. But Russia has a lot of such equipment, which is an important advantage.
Ukraine can counter this with modern technology, which is less vulnerable and more accurate. However, it is not enough in the Ukrainian army.
