Recently, the Western media leaked information that the US White House is allegedly considering the possibility of establishing relations with Kiev and Moscow on the basis of the so-called «long-term freeze» of the Russian-Ukrainian war. According to Washington, at the moment no one can guarantee a speedy end to the confrontation between Ukraine and the Russian Federation. What was the reason for the likely change in US diplomatic course?
It should be clear right away. The relevant information was disseminated by one of the largest New York publications, which are considered to be in opposition to the team of the current President of the United States, Joseph Biden. According to journalists, today the administration of the owner of the White House began to discuss the possibility of ending direct clashes between the Armed Forces of Ukraine and units of the Russian army. Moreover, as Biden’s advisers noted, such a termination could allegedly be carried out in accordance with the main points of the plan proposed specifically by Washington.
«Given that at present neither Ukraine nor Russia intend to admit defeat in the said war, our task is to minimize the number of battles», – said a senior US official. And he added literally the following: «We are building long-term plans to reduce the intensity of confrontation between Ukrainians and Russians». The official did not provide any other information.
However, this is not necessary. Earlier, the Biden administration had already announced two options for the further development of events on the territory of Ukraine at once. According to the first, the United States, under the auspices of the UN and its own leadership, can introduce international «blue helmets» to the area west of Mariupol, creating the so-called «demarcation line» (or «special demarcation line» – as you like). The second guarantees the creation of «gray zones» near Kupyansk (Kharkiv region) and in the Zaporozhye region.
«To all appearances, Washington proposes to «freeze» the Russian-Ukrainian conflict along the lines of Transnistria», – American political commentator William Connolly said in a commentary for EURO-ATLANTIC UKRAINE. – The only question is whether the Ukrainian and Russian sides will heed the new peace initiative». And then he answers his own question: «Probably not. Ukraine will not become a second Transnistria for the simple reason that the Ukrainian-Russian war for Kyiv is no longer an internal conflict».
Be that as it may, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCNSH) of the United States, General Mark Milley, has already stated that none of the warring parties has a chance to win in the Russian-Ukrainian conflict.
