Limit exhausted: is it true that the West is running out of ammunition for Ukraine?

The United States of America in particular and the structures of the North Atlantic Alliance as a whole do not currently have the necessary resources to supply the armed forces of Ukraine with modern types of weapons and ammunition. This assumption was made yesterday by analysts of one of the largest US TV channels – CNN. According to journalists and experts, the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the course of their fight against the Russian aggressors “spend too much Western funds.”

It should be especially noted that, according to American law, the specified material of the TV company represents the point of view of only a single category of the interviewed persons. But here’s the thing – the former UK Secretary of Defense Ben Wallace, in his best traditions, questioned the advisability of further deliveries of air defense missiles by London to Ukraine. “We don’t know how long the confrontation between Moscow and Kiev will last, but we are already forced to note that Britain prefers to keep strategic stocks of arsenals for the implementation of its own defense projects”, –  he concluded, in particular.

This topic began to be developed in the Pentagon. According to the CNN editors, some US officials have indicated that the United States has a certain reserve of ammunition, which the US defense department is not going to part with under any circumstances.

“Today, the conventional wisdom in the West is that the Ukrainian armed forces are using too much ammunition”, – New York-based political commentator William Connolly told EURO-ATLANTIC UKRAINE. – There are fears that we simply will not be able to meet the relevant needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine without compromising our own defense capability. This is probably why Washington supplied Ukraine with cluster bombs.”

The opinion that the “limit” for the supply of Western ammunition to Ukraine has actually been exhausted was indirectly shared by the authorities of the Federal Republic of Germany. According to some reports, Berlin has “frozen” operations for the export of a certain type of shells. Previously, Bulgaria and Hungary completely refused such supplies.

Be that as it may, NATO promised Kyiv to find ways to solve the problem. And this is an important item.
