In the near future, the question of the possibility of the existence of life on the Fourth planet from the Sun may be partially returned to the discussion fields of clubs of astronomers and university audiences around the world. On the eve of the US National Space Agency (NASA) published data from its Curiosity rover, which found evidence of climate cyclicity on Mars. In fact, this means that millions of years ago, the “Red Planet” was similar to the Earth. And, therefore, at the indicated times living beings could live in the indicated territory. Should we talk about any sensation in this context?
Apparently it’s worth it. First of all, because the Curiosity project, in which the United States once invested more than 15 billion dollars, has finally begun to justify the hopes placed on it. Previously, the rover was limited to transmitting relatively low-quality photographs and video materials to Earth. Now everything has changed radically.
According to some reports, the rover did a gigantic job, on the basis of which American scientists found out that more than three billion years ago on Mars, as well as on Earth, there was an alternation of dry and wet seasons, which actually indicates the possible presence at that time of the so-called “Martian life.” Moreover, according to some scientists, in this particular case, we cannot talk about primitive forms at all.
“Mars could be an icy planet where a massive volcanic eruption suddenly warmed the climate,” Paul Sabatier, a member of the Department of Planetary Science at the University of Toulouse, France, who works with NASA, told reporters. “This caused the formation of liquid water, which in turn led to the development of bacteria, such as archaea, for example.” Sabatier and his colleagues believe that in the future, these microorganisms could combine into multicellular structures, which again could lead to the formation of more complex life forms, as happened on Earth.
It should be especially noted that new data allow us to say that possible life on Mars originated much earlier than it happened on our planet. However, the question regarding the details of the origin of life on Earth still remains open.
“We cannot deny the likelihood of bringing life to the earth’s surface from the outside,” experts say. – It is also impossible to deny the possibility that the earthly civilization has “Martian roots”.
