Not for long: the allies estimated how long Ukraine’s war with Russia would last without the help of the West

The material about this was prepared by CNN, referring to high-ranking officials from Europe and the United States of America. The positions and names of these persons were left unnamed. The article states that the West tried to answer the question of how long Ukraine alone would stay until a fiasco on the fronts and what impact it would have on Kyiv’s allies in the long run.

Where did the question come from?

The main reason for the need for such a question was two factors:

1. Lack of clarity regarding the allocation of additional aid from the USA for 2024, which was blocked by Congress;

2. Hungary’s “veto” on the aid package to Ukraine from the European Union.

All politicians are almost sure that both issues will be resolved, but at the same time, there will be a pause in the supply of weapons to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. And it is critically important to understand how long this pause can become a disaster.

Some believe that Washington does not want to approve the aid, knowing that this finance will not provide the desired result due to a lack of support from Europe. The same thing happens with the EU: the organization does not want to be the only party that helps because it is ineffective, and you cannot return the funds after signing all the documents.

Gradual loss

However, the USA and Europe understand that the allocation of funds is not Ukraine’s victory guarantee, but without help, Ukraine will definitely lose. One senior official said that according to the available information, it would be several months without assistance. Most of all, at first, there will be a significant regression at the front and a complete defeat – approximately before the onset of summer. This would take place in the following three stages:

– lack of long-range missiles;

– lack of artillery ammunition;

– lack of short-range missiles (such as Javelin and Stinger).

Already now, the Ukrainian army is five to seven times less likely to open fire on enemy positions than units of the Russian Federation because active rationing of ammunition on the part of Ukraine has begun. This became the cause of increased losses among Ukrainian servicemen.

At the same time, high-ranking officials point out that politicians, like society, still do not want to realize what consequences the fall of Ukraine would lead to.
