Killings have been legalized: in Belarus, it is now possible to use weapons against civilians

Over the past five years, striking changes have taken place in Belarus, which the authorities manage to implement so that it does not worry the world community very much. The result was an unprecedented outflow of young people and the able-bodied population from the Republic. In the same vein, the law on permission to use weapons against citizens, adopted a few days ago, also applies. Is it possible to defend civil rights and freedoms under such conditions?

The basis for such permission was the change in the Statute of the Internal Service of the Armed Forces, which regulates the use of weapons by military personnel. The changes were announced in a decree published on the President’s official website. It refers to Lukashenko’s order to replace Article 11 with a new version.

It states that during the performance of their duties, the military can legally use weapons, taking into account the situation and the offender’s identity. The people we are talking about here are those who have committed an administrative offense. Examples of such crimes are obscene language in public places, acts that disturb the peace of citizens, spreading false rumors, using prohibited symbols (on clothes, on posters, etc.), etc.

The algorithm is as follows:

– the military assesses the situation;

– they warn about the intention to use weapons;

– they give time for the offender to do what is required of him, after which the weapon is used.

Suppose the military believes a person poses a danger to themselves or others. In that case, they do not leave time for the offender to comply with the requirements and use weapons immediately. After that, the prosecutor receives information and reports on injury or death. The law provides that with such an algorithm, servicemen are not responsible for the damage caused because their actions fully comply with the requirements of the combined military statutes.

Previously, such means were also used in Belarus, but the legal framework did not correspond to 100%. Now, the state has “cemented” its right to execute dissenters. However, there are almost no dissenters who dare to express their point of view, which differs from the official one. The authorities’ goal is to reduce their number to 0, using physical destruction.
