Last two years Russia has been carrying out a long drawn-out war in Ukraine, which turned out to be the final episode in the career of Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu. He held the position for 12 years, but now, apparently, he did not fulfill expectations.
The reign was indeed long-lasting, but everything comes to an end, especially when the President expects “Kyiv in three days,” and the war has been going on for three years. It became known that Shoigu will be replaced by Andriy Bilousov, who was previously the vice premier. Interestingly, he has never been a military man and has not been involved in military affairs, nor does he have a relevant higher education. His specialty is economics.
Interestingly, the recent arrest of the former Deputy Minister Shoigu – Timur Ivanov – on charges of corruption now looks different. And they did not stop there. Mention was made of corrupt schemes regarding the loss of budget funds, but in some cases, the amounts were simply astronomical. This could have led to losses for Russia of no less than 11 trillion rubles.
It was also reported on the arrest of the Chief of the Personnel Directorate of the Russian Ministry of Defense, Lieutenant General Yuri Kuznetsov. Therefore, it seems that the search for someone to blame for the failures in the war in Ukraine is just beginning, and the top is craving “blood.”
