The average cost of training one specialist in a creative profession for the state is 2 million hryvnias, said the Acting Minister of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine Rostyslav Karandeev.
Speaking at the all-Ukrainian forum “Culture during War. Human Capital” in Kyiv, he noted that this figure includes expenses of the state, private individuals, and parents to ensure a competitive level of mastery of artistic and cultural practices.
Who pays
According to Karandeev, the average duration of training a creative specialist is 15 years, including:
- 6-8 years of education in an art school;
- 4 years in college;
- 4 years in a higher educational institution.
He emphasized that this estimate is not fully verified, as costs may vary depending on the specific creative specialty and direction.
Will the shortage be covered
In addition, the minister mentioned that since the beginning of the full-scale war, the cultural sector of Ukraine has lost 18% of its workforce. This indicates a serious impact of the war on the country’s cultural sector, making investments in training new specialists even more important for the recovery and development of the cultural industry.
