The state is implementing additional financial programs to support internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Ukraine. Let’s take a look at who is eligible for assistance and how to apply for payments.
Who can receive financial assistance?
According to the new program, internally displaced persons who require additional assistance for inpatient treatment or care under the principle of “money follows the person” are eligible for support. The program provides payments to able-bodied individuals in the following categories:
- Elderly people.
- Persons with disabilities.
This assistance is available only to IDPs whose homes were destroyed or became uninhabitable due to the war or occupation. Information about their housing situation must be registered in the State Register, and any other state housing assistance is temporarily suspended.
How to apply for payments?
To access this financial support, the following steps must be completed:
- Submit an application to the authorized body.
- Wait for the application to be reviewed within five working days, during which the need for assistance is assessed.
- Receive a list of service providers after the application is approved. You will be helped in choosing an appropriate provider.
- Open a special account for receiving monthly payments. The account must be opened within 10 working days from the moment the payments are approved.
Important details
Once the payments are approved, the IDP can expect regular support aimed at covering the costs of care or inpatient treatment. This allows the state to support people affected by the war and helps them better integrate into new living conditions.
This initiative will help many Ukrainians receive the necessary support during a difficult period in their lives.
