According to Bild, the German government may halt the transfer of heavy military equipment to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Let’s understand why this is happening and what these news really mean.
Why could Germany stop the aid?
The main reason for stopping the supply is financial difficulties facing allies. According to Bloomberg, several countries that previously actively supported Ukraine are facing challenges in funding military aid. Some of them cannot afford to increase aid volumes, while others may completely refuse new shipments.
Germany, for example, has about 300 Leopard 2 tanks in its arsenal, as well as armored vehicles and howitzers.
