Donald Trump and Russia: a diplomatic catastrophe that changes the world

The world order as we knew it is under threat. Donald Trump, former President of the United States and potential candidate in future elections, is taking steps that shock the international community. His rhetoric and actions clearly demonstrate that he has chosen the side of Russia.

After the tragedies in Bucha and Mariupol, after missile strikes on Ukrainian cities, after the torture and executions of Ukrainian prisoners of war, after the death of Alexei Navalny in a Russian prison and political persecutions in Russia itself, Trump decided to support not democracy, but dictatorship. He echoes the Kremlin’s narratives, casts doubt on Putin’s regime’s crimes, and at the same time shows contempt for U.S. allies.

How Trump is Helping Putin?

1. Direct Repetition of Kremlin Propaganda

Trump claims that the war was started by Ukraine due to its desire to join NATO. This is exactly what Moscow has been claiming for decades to justify its aggression. However, the facts speak the opposite: Russia started the war in 2014 and in 2022 launched a full-scale invasion.

2. Blocking Aid to Ukraine

Former President and his supporters in the U.S. Congress actively resist providing military and financial aid to Kyiv. Yet, earlier they criticized Joe Biden for “insufficient support” to Ukraine. This double game undermines trust in the U.S. as a strategic partner.

3. Dismantling Defensive Alliances

Trump attacks NATO and America’s European partners, undermining Western unity. He suggests that the U.S. might leave its allies alone with the Russian threat. This is essentially a “green light” for Moscow’s future aggressive actions.

4. Isolating Putin’s Opponents

Russians who oppose the regime are left without support. Belarusians aspiring to rid themselves of Lukashenko’s dictatorship are losing hope. Trump demonstrates that his own interests are more important to him than freedom and democracy in the world.

Why is this dangerous for the whole world?

Trump’s policies create a situation that could lead to a global catastrophe. His actions resemble events before World War II, when the world turned a blind eye to the rise of fascism. He is literally feeding Putin’s dictatorship, allowing him to act with impunity.

What’s next? Poland and the Baltic states – the next targets?

European countries are already sounding the alarm. Poland and the Baltic countries understand: if the US stops supporting Ukraine, they could be the next victims of Russian aggression.

Can Israel rely on US support?

Traditional American policy has always been aimed at supporting Israel. But Trump, known for his impulsive decisions and personal insults, may upset this balance. With Biden, despite all disagreements, Tel Aviv could rely on support. With Trump – no.

Diplomacy or rudeness? How Trump behaves with allies

Trump shows disrespect not only to Ukraine but also to the leaders of European states:

  • President of Poland waited for a meeting for 90 minutes and only got 11 minutes of conversation.
  • Prime Minister of Denmark received an ultimatum: hand over Greenland to the US.
  • President of France went to the White House, but was not welcomed at the door.
  • Justin Trudeau was called the “governor” of Canada, insinuating that the country is only an appendage of the US.

This is not diplomacy – this is disrespect. This is not how allies are treated, this is how subordinates are treated. But Europe and Canada are not vassals of the USA, and such behavior will only weaken American positions in the world.

Conclusions: a new world order or a path to catastrophe?

Trump’s actions today could be a point of no return. He threatens not only Ukraine, but the entire Western world. His policies are leading to a new wave of global crises, where Russia and other dictatorships may act with impunity.

When future historians analyze this period, they will be amazed: how a group of people, driven by egotism and political games, put the security of the whole world at risk.

And those who vote for Trump must understand: they are not just voting for a person. They are voting for a future where Putin and other dictators will dictate the rules of the game.

Today, the choice between democracy and authoritarianism is not only in front of Ukraine, but before the whole world.
