The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine worked out and approved the mechanism of forced evacuation from dangerous regions. Deputy Prime Minister Vereshchuk said that it is the duty of the state to save the lives of children, so she will deal with it if the parents cannot.
Who will make the decision?
In order to recognize a specific settlement as such a zone, a decision of the following bodies is required:
- Regional military administration.
- Military command bodies.
- Coordinating headquarters for mandatory evacuation of the population.
The beginning of the removal of children from dangerous areas is initiated after agreements between these three institutions.
Who will be evacuated with?
Mandatory evacuation will be carried out with an adult responsible for the minor. It may be:
- mother or father;
- guardian;
- a person who replaces parents;
- legal representative.
Where do they start?
Currently, Bakhmut is the only city in Ukraine from which children will be forcibly evacuated. In general, according to approximate data, about 4 000 civilians remain there, 38 of whom are children and minors.
