Sanctions Extended Against Russia
The restrictions have been extended in the context of the ongoing full-scale war in Ukraine. The EU Council notes that sanctions against Moscow were first introduced in 2014 and significantly expanded in 2022. Currently, the restrictions against Russia cover the oil, finance, and dual-use goods export sectors. Moreover, the EU continues to combat the existing sanctions.
New Sanctions Against the Russian Shadow Fleet
Recently, the United Kingdom strengthened its sanctions against the Russian shadow fleet, adding 11 new points, including tankers that illegally transport oil for Russia. Specifically, sanctions were imposed on the vessels “Zaliv Amurskiy” and “SCF Pechora” for their involvement in transporting oil or petroleum products from Russia to third countries.
Reminder! In June, the United Kingdom imposed sanctions against the company “Ingosstrakh,” which provides services to Russian oil exporters, including ship insurance.
