The day before, representatives of the administration of US President Joseph Biden were forced to acknowledge the lack of \u201cfree\u201d funds in the American treasury for the regular supply of modern weapons and ammunition to Kiev, as well as for financing the exercises of individual units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine abroad. According to Deputy Speaker of the United States Department of Defense Sabrina Singh, to date Washington has spent more than 95% of the money intended to support Ukraine as a whole. In fact, this could lead to a revision by Washington of the volume of assistance allocated to Ukrainian partners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Singh’s words sounded like a bolt from the blue. Previously, Washington politicians vied with each other to declare that the United States would not abandon the program of active military assistance to Ukraine. And indeed, Kyiv received the weapons and financial resources it needed, despite neither the parliamentary crisis in the United States itself nor the anti-terrorist operation in Israel. Now these funds are empty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThere is a completely understandable impression that for the first time in many years, America does not know what to do in this situation,\u201d American political commentator Jeffrey Pitters summed up in a special commentary for EURO-ATLANTIC UKRAINE. \u201cOn the one hand, the Pentagon has the right to request additional funds through the highest legislative “the country’s body, and on the other, the Ministry of Defense, will clearly oppose the idea of \u200b\u200btransferring money to Ukraine from the US military budget. In this regard, Ukrainians will have to heed the recommendations of the White House and tighten their belts.” It should be especially noted that Kyiv did not receive any relevant direct recommendations in this regard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And yet, Ukraine will probably have to \u201ctighten\u201d these same \u201cbelts.\u201d As Singh emphasized, Washington will continue to supply Kyiv with weapons and money, but in a disproportionately smaller volume. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The United States will not be able to completely stop providing such assistance.
