It has been reported that a group of individuals in India has been arrested for recruiting local residents to send them to the frontlines in Ukraine as part of Russian units. The duration of this recruiting operation is currently unknown.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

An investigation is currently ongoing. It has been determined that the criminals were seeking potential recruits in several Indian states. They primarily conducted this recruitment through the internet, using social media and local recruiters. The main attraction was the promise of high pay for work in Russia. They also enticed individuals with perks such as assistance in gaining admission to private Russian universities and free visa extensions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is known that at least two young men were promised positions as “assistants” in the Russian army. After agreeing, they were transported to Russia, sent for military training, and then, without the consent of the “employees,” sent to the conflict zone in another country – Ukraine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The person behind this scheme is an Indian citizen named Nidhil Jobi Bensam, residing in the state of Tamil Nadu. Before engaging in criminal activities, he worked as a translator in Russia. Another Indian, Anthony Michael Elagovan from Mumbai, was responsible for visa arrangements and tickets to Russia. Both were arrested at the end of April.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, the arrests did not end there. Just this week, two more recruiters from the state of Kerala, Aruna Norbert and Yesudas Priyan, were swiftly apprehended. They were the key recruiters in the network. Investigations regarding these men are still ongoing, as reported by the authorities.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
