However, US intelligence assesses the likelihood of such a step as low. But why? And what alternative pressure tools can Russia use?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Nuclear Escalation Risk: Unlikely but Dangerous<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>American intelligence analysts believe that despite the increasingly aggressive rhetoric from the Kremlin, the use of nuclear weapons will not provide Russia with real military advantages. Such a step would be a &#8220;last resort&#8221; that Moscow would resort to only in conditions of total impasse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Several key facts are cited to support this conclusion:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Lack of Military Benefit<\/strong><br>The use of nuclear weapons will not give Russia a decisive advantage on the battlefield. Moreover, it may provoke a strong response from the West.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Reaction to US Authorization<\/strong><br>The US authorization for Ukraine to use long-range ATACMS missiles to strike Russian targets did not increase the risk of a nuclear attack. However, the West must be prepared for other manifestations of aggression from the Kremlin.
