This decision is part of a political strategy during the election campaign and is seen as a reaction to the increasing flow of refugees.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What has changed?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the new rules, asylum status can only be granted to minors, pregnant women, and individuals with special needs. Exceptions will also be made when border guards recognize that a person is genuinely at risk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Government&#8217;s stance<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The government of Donald Tusk asserts that these measures are necessary to protect the country from controlled migration organized by Belarus and Russia. This is part of the &#8220;Eastern Shield&#8221; program aimed at strengthening borders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">International reaction<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Human rights activists have already criticized this policy, emphasizing that it contradicts European and international human rights law.
