Finally real steps: USA will provide Ukraine with all Patriot systems prepared for third countries

The United States will urgently suspend all orders from other countries for Patriot air defense systems and interceptor missiles in order to redirect all available systems to Ukraine. This was reported by the Financial Times. An official announcement of this decision is expected to be made on June 20.

Promises – Fulfilling

This decision was made after President Joe Biden, during his visit to Italy last week, stated that the US had pledged to supply Ukraine with additional air defense systems, including Patriot batteries.

It is currently unknown how long Switzerland will have to wait for its orders, but it is clear that global demand far exceeds the production capacity of Patriot missiles. An official announcement on the US decision is expected soon. It is understood that the waiting time is not just a few months, but significantly longer.

Current Affairs

Recall that the Verkhovna Rada adopted a bill on the overhaul of the Bureau of Economic Security in the second reading. This was announced by MP Yaroslav Zhelezniak, noting that the decision was supported by 239 deputies.

Earlier, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) expressed support for Ukraine’s plans to build additional nuclear blocks at the Khmelnitsky Nuclear Power Plant. IAEA Director General Rafael Mariano Grossi stated that the agency is in contact with Ukraine’s Minister of Energy Herman Galushchenko and the director of “Energoatom” Petro Kotin to discuss the possibilities of supporting these plans.
